Vitra’s Akari 1AG table lamp is an iconic mid-century design that’s influenced by Japan, from its title to its construction. Named after the Japanese word for ‘light’, it was designed by sculptural artist Isamu Noguchi to provide weightless luminosity, just like traditional paper lanterns. This one has a grey shade that’s crafted by hand from washi paper and bamboo, then fitted with thin tripod legs.
